Is childhood being squashed

Children can't be children anymore in this day and age children are being forced to grow up quickly,little children as young as six are being taught sex ed and given condoms,toddlers are being reported as racist. Childhood is being squashed and why? are we as adults so afraid of children being themselves that we are trying to prevent that.I used to volunteer at a elementary school and one of our four year olds accidentally hurt another student,the parents of the child got the police involved,why not just the solve the problem yourselves why involve the police. When did childish teasing slip into the category of bullying,if a little girl teases another little girl about something as innocent as her clothes is that consider bullying or is it still teasing,if a two year old hits another two year old,is that considered assault. Why are the things children have done for hundreds of years suddenly called crimes. Why does a six year old need to know about sex,they are not ready or mature enough for that.
